Tokaj-Hegyalja is one of Hungary’s well-known and recognised wine-districts, where all of the conditions are given to make top quality wines on over six thousand hectares of land. Our guests are waited by rare natural beauties, friendly people and excellent wines of the area all year long.

Erdőbénye is one of the oldest settlements of Tokaj-Hegyalja which used to be the one of the biggest centres of growing the Tokaji wines. The Béres Vineyard is situated near the village.

The fossil of a leave of the paleo-vine from the Miocene Period, the Vitis Tokaiensis was discovered in Erdőbénye. This find also shows that the grapes are an in indigenous plant. The pottery found in the Etruscan graves may indicate that wine-growing was pursued here even during the Roman occupation. The village situated in the geometrical centre of the Tokaji wine-district, is one of the oldest settlements of Tokaj-Hegyalja that used to be a market-town. It has been inhabited by Hungarians since the 9th century. Its name was first mentioned in the written sources in 1404.
